Terms of Service

For the GREPrep application at greprep.duckdns.org.
Effective 2 September 2026 · Last updated 2 September 2026

These terms govern your use of GREPrep, a personal GRE study application operated by an individual developer. By signing in, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

1. What GREPrep is

GREPrep is a study tool: a vocabulary curriculum with spaced repetition, quantitative and verbal practice questions, timed mock tests, and AI-generated feedback on analytical writing essays. It is offered free of charge and provided as-is. It is a personal project, not a commercial product, and comes with no guarantee of uptime, availability or continued operation.

GREPrep is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Educational Testing Service (ETS), the organisation that administers the GRE. "GRE" is a registered trademark of ETS and is used here only to describe what the application helps you prepare for.

2. Your account

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Access may be suspended or removed if these terms are broken in a way that affects the service or other users.

4. Your content and AI-generated content

You keep ownership of the essays and other text you write. You grant GREPrep only the permission it needs to store your content, display it back to you, and pass it to the AI provider named in the privacy policy in order to generate the feedback you asked for.

Practice questions, explanations, essay scores and word notes are produced by AI language models. They can be wrong. Scores are an approximation of the GRE rubric and carry no relationship to what ETS would award. Treat everything the application generates as study material to be checked, not as authoritative fact, and never as professional or academic advice.

5. Availability and changes

The application runs on a single small server and may be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades or reasons outside anyone's control. Features may be changed or removed, and the service may be discontinued. Reasonable notice of permanent shutdown will be sent to your account email address so that you can request a copy of your data first.

6. Disclaimer and liability

GREPrep is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. There is no warranty that using it will improve your GRE score.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, nor for lost data, lost study time or examination outcomes arising from your use of the application. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

7. Termination

You may stop using GREPrep at any time. Access may be terminated if these terms are broken, or if the service is discontinued. On termination, your data is handled as set out in the privacy policy.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the application changes. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified at your account email address. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
